Dear Friend,
This week's parasha, Parashat Pekudei, finds us concluding the reading of the second book of the Torah, Sefer Shemot.  Upon concluding the reading of the Book of Exodus this Shabbat, we will do what we do upon concluding each of the five books of the Torah:  We will loudly declare, "chazak chazak v'nitchazek", "Be Strong!  Be strong!  And may we be strengthened!"
The storyline of Sefer Shemot is a journey of sorts:  The book begins with the Israelite people living tranquilly in Egypt.  However, they are quickly enslaved, and the ten plagues, exodus, golden calf, Ten Commandments, and instructions to build the Mishkan follow.  Sefer Shemot reaches its climactic conclusion in this week's parasha, as Moshe Rabbeinu sets up the Mishkan, with the Mishkan serving as a perpetual reminder of the Almighty's presence amongst his people.
Please join us this Shabbat morning at 9:30 am in Mozaic Senior Life's (JSS) Bennett Hall, 4200 Park Avenue Bridgeport, as we conclude the reading of the Book of Exodus, and proclaim "chazak chazak v'nitchazek" together.  We will meet together in the same location for Purim services and Megillah reading on Saturday night March 23rd at 8:15 pm, and on Sunday morning March 24th at 8:00 am.
All the best,
Rabbi Peretz Robinson
