Rabbi Yirmiyah Moldovan grew up in sunny Sydney, Australia, around the corner from the famous Bondi Beach. He attended the local Jewish community day school before receiving a Commerce Degree with Majors in Accounting and Finance from the University of New South Wales. He utilized his degree as a bookkeeper and financial analyst before directing his attention to Torah study in Jerusalem. Over a period of 11 years, Rabbi Moldovan studied Talmud, Jewish law, Tanach, Jewish philosophy, and character development in Yeshiva Ohr Somayach, the Mir Yeshivah, and The Jerusalem Kollel, headed by Rav Yitzchak Berkovits, who has sent hundreds of pupils to positions of leadership all over the globe. Rabbi Moldovan has received smichah from Rav Berkovits and Rav Zalman Nechemia Goldberg, as well as being qualified as a Sofer, Shatnez tester, Shochet, Baal Tokeyah, and Kashrus supervisor. Rabbi Moldovan has also traveled to Japan for Kashrus training. He is married to Hadassah Fisherowitz of Kansas City and Denver, and they have four beautiful children, Yocheved (7), Tzvi (5), Mordechai (3), and Yitzchok (1.5). In his spare time Rabbi Moldovan enjoys reading, basketball and soccer.
